Personal Photo projects

In 2015 I was challenged by a photographer friend to embark on a year-long self portraiture project.

As I was used to being behind the camera rather than in front of it, I found this to be a daunting task. However, Ruby, my black labrador, came to the rescue.

I used my Fujifilm X-T1 and the camera remote app on my mobile phone as the shutter release. My mobile can be seen in most of the photographs, and in some images, it is possible to see how I composed the shot on the app. My camera was balanced on walls, the floor, on plant pots… anywhere to get a good composition.

Ruby was very patient.

Please enjoy this set of 52 images of Ruby (and a bit of me). Sound on…

In 2019, I decided to redo the 52 week project, this time with Daisy too. She was just 8 months when we began the year.

It was quite challenging not to repeat the same compositions each week. Sound on again…
